Nominations due for the Winning Edge Awards. Every year during Small Business Week - Celebrating local business excellence Each year during Small Business Week, Airdrie recognizes business excellence through the Winning Edge Awards. NEW - Airdrie Business Leader Award - recognize an individual who is an exceptional leader, in both business and the community. Anyone can nominate a business for a Winning Edge Award. Business to business and self-nominations are welcome. Nominations open on Friday, August 6 and the deadline for nominations is Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. The Winning Edge Awards are organized by the Airdrie Business Resource Partnership, and its partners. The Awards are made possible by generous sponsorship from the local business community.

The City of Airdrie is proud to present the first annual Airdrie Fest, a community festival showcasing Airdrie community organizations and businesses. Due to the overwhelming success of the "Airdrie Community Showcase" (designed for Not-for-Profit groups to do fall registrations), Airdrie Fest was created to build on these successes and incorporate even more of the Airdrie community. As the community grows there is a need for community to meet and celebrate everything Airdrie offers. This year we will be including the business sector to come celebrate in a festival atmosphere on this one day event. There will also be sport demonstrations, FREE live music, kids activities, a Italian BBQ and so much more!

Splash 'N Boots - Family Theatre at the Bert Church Live Theatre
The internationally recognized, award-winning and much beloved Splash ‘N Boots will hit the BCT stage with an energetic live show. The vibrant duo’s performance of interactive sing-alongs, catchy harmonies and hilarious antics taps into the energy and creativity that make children sing, dance and laugh together. Described as “The Canadian Wiggles,” Splash ‘N Boots gives a fresh, dynamic and unforgettable concert that will get kids jumping, twirling and groovin’!

30th Annual Terry Fox Run. Run starts at 10 am in Nose Creek Park. Participate in the 1k, 2k, 5k, or 10k. Bike, walk or ride. This is a dog friendly event.

The Trews - Rock-Acoustic performance at the Bert Church Live Theatre
With
four albums in seven years, two of them gold; 10 Top-10 singles, two of
them No.1 and one gold; multiple awards for best single, video and live
group; and close to 800 live shows under its belt, including support
slots for the Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, Guns N’ Roses, Nickelback
and KISS, this Canadian rock band never rests. The Trews will hit the
BCT stage with their live acoustic show on Saturday, October 30th.
